TikTok Shop reorder point calculator

When to reorder, and how much.

Quick answer

Reorder point = daily sales × (lead time + safety days). At 40 sales a day, 21 days lead time and 7 safety days, reorder at 1,120 units.

Start from an example:

Sales and supply

Use the last 14–30 days.

From order to stock ready to sell.

Uses average daily sales. If a video goes viral, recalculate with the new daily rate the same day.

How the reorder point is calculated

  • Reorder point

reorder point = daily sales × (lead time + safety days)

When stock falls to this number, place the next order. It covers sales until the new stock arrives, plus a buffer.

  • Order quantity

order = max(daily sales × days to cover, supplier minimum)

Order enough to last until the next reorder. Bigger orders mean fewer reorders but more cash and storage.

  • Days until reorder

(stock on hand − reorder point) ÷ daily sales

Zero or below means order today.

Frequently asked questions

What is a reorder point?

The stock level that tells you to reorder. It equals the sales you expect during the supplier's lead time plus your safety stock.

How much safety stock should a TikTok Shop seller keep?

More than on slower channels, because one video can multiply sales overnight. 7–14 days of sales is a common buffer; use more for long lead times.

Does holding stock in FBT cost extra?

Storage is free for the first 60 days, then charged daily per cubic foot. Keep orders sized so stock sells within that window.
