How Amazon storage fees work

  • Monthly storage fee

    cubic feet × monthly rate

    Standard-size: 0,72 € per ft³ (Jan–Sep), 2,21 €(Oct–Dec). Oversize: 0,52 € and 1,29 €. Billed on the average daily volume you store.

  • Aged inventory surcharge

    cubic feet × aged rate

    From 181 days: 0,46 €–1,38 € per ft³, then 5,01 €–5,43 € from 271 days. From 366 days it is 6,35 € per ft³ or 0,28 € per unit, and from 456 days 7,27 € or 0,32 € per unit, whichever is more.

  • Storage utilization surcharge

Added only for Professional sellers with high stock relative to sales (over 22 weeks of supply) and at least 25 ft³ on average. Enter it if it applies to you.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find the cubic feet of a unit?

Multiply the packed length, width and height in inches, then divide by 1,728. A 10 × 8 × 3 in box is 0.14 ft³.

When is the aged inventory surcharge charged?

Amazon assesses it monthly, around the 15th, on units that have been in its warehouses for more than 180 days.

Why are Q4 storage fees so high?

From October to December, standard-size storage costs 2,21 € per ft³, about 3× the January–September rate, because warehouse space is in demand.

How can I avoid aged inventory fees?

Send smaller batches more often, run deals or coupons on slow sellers, and create removal or liquidation orders before units pass 270 days.
