Video
Works for public video and photo post IDs. Age is counted to Nov 5, 2026. Nothing is sent to TikTok.
How the post date is found
The ID holds the time
upload time (Unix seconds) = video ID >> 32TikTok builds each video ID from the upload time plus other bits. Shifting the ID 32 bits to the right leaves the Unix timestamp in seconds.
Find the ID
The ID is the long number after /video/ or /photo/ in the link. Short share links hide it, so open them in a browser first.
Read the result
The date is shown in UTC and in six big cities. Because it comes from the ID, it stays correct even if the caption or video changes.
Frequently asked questions
How can I see when a TikTok was posted?
On the app, the date shows under the username but is often shortened to “2w ago”. Paste the link here to see the exact date and time.
Does it work for deleted or private videos?
Yes, if you have the link or ID. The date is decoded from the number itself, so the video does not need to be online.
Why does my short link not work?
Links like vm.tiktok.com/… do not contain the video ID. Open the link in a browser and copy the full address with /video/ in it.
Is the time exact?
Yes, to the second. It is the time the video was uploaded to TikTok, which is usually the time it was posted.
