Amazon trending searches: what shoppers search for on Amazon

Amazon search-term data is not available yet. This page explains how Amazon search trends are measured.

Quick answer

People on Amazon search for plain product names with a detail, such as size or material. Amazon search trends compare how often a term is searched in one period with the period before it. Growth is that change in percent, and the search volume index scales each term to the top term, which scores 100. This page shows no search-term figures, because Amazon search-term data is not available yet.

How Amazon search trends are measured

Amazon trends move with seasons, social media and price drops. Trend measures compare each search term with itself over time, so a small but rising term stands out next to the big ones.

  • Search volume index

index = term volume ÷ top term volume × 100

Volume is expressed as an index, not a count of searches. The most searched term in the window scores 100 and every other term is scaled to it.

  • Growth

    growth % = (this period ÷ previous period − 1) × 100

A term is trending when shoppers searched it more this period than in the period before. A term with +50% was searched one and a half times as often.

  • Window

7 days vs the 7 before · 30 days vs the 30 before

The 7-day window catches new spikes. The 30-day window is steadier and better for planning stock.

  • How sellers use it

growing 3+ weeks → check products, prices, reviews

One spike can be noise. Look for terms that keep growing, then open the products that rank for the term and check prices, reviews and how many sellers compete.

Frequently asked questions

What are people searching for on Amazon?

Amazon shoppers usually search for plain product names with a detail or two, such as size, material or who the product is for. This page does not list current search terms, because Amazon search-term data is not available here yet.

What are the most searched keywords on Amazon?

This page does not show a ranked list of the most searched Amazon keywords, because that data is not available here yet. When terms are ranked, the search volume index sets the top term in the window to 100 and scales every other term to it.

What does “trending” mean on this page?

A trending search is one that shoppers searched more than in the previous period. The 7-day window compares the last 7 days with the 7 days before. The 30-day window compares the last 30 days with the 30 before. Growth % = (this period ÷ previous period − 1) × 100. Check the volume index too, because small terms can grow fast.

How do sellers use Amazon search trends?

Sellers use them to spot demand early and to time stock and ads. Look for terms that grow for several weeks in a row, not a single spike. Then check the products that rank for the term: prices, reviews and how many sellers compete. Seasonal trends Amazon shoppers follow, such as heated or cooling gear, come back each year, so plan stock ahead.
