How Amazon returns costs add up

  • Returns processing fee

    (returns − units × threshold) × fee

Since June 2024 the fee applies only to returns above your category threshold, measured over the shipment month and the next two months. ASINs under 25 units a month are exempt.

  • Apparel and shoes

No threshold. The fee applies to every customer return, at apparel rates that start at MX$33.00 for small items.

  • Refund admin fee and lost stock

    min(MX$10020% × referral fee)

When Amazon refunds a sale, it keeps part of the referral fee. Returns that come back damaged are lost stock.
