GMV Max counts total shop GMV, including some organic sales, so reported ROI can run higher than older ad types.

How GMV Max ROI works

  • ROI target

ROI = gross revenue ÷ ad cost

You set a target ROI and GMV Max spends within its range. A higher target means less spend and fewer orders, a lower one more scale.

  • Orders and GMV

GMV = budget × ROI orders = GMV ÷ average order value

This assumes the full budget spends. Campaigns with high targets often underspend.

  • Break-even ROI

    break-even ROI = 1 ÷ margin before ads

At a 35% margin you need ROI above 2.86 to profit. Below that, every order loses money after ads.
