Quick answer

TikTok ads have no fixed price: you set a daily or lifetime budget, and what you pay per impression or click depends on bidding, audience, placement and season. Costs are usually discussed as CPM (cost per 1,000 impressions) and CPC. A TikTok ads cost calculator turns your budget, CPM, CTR and conversion rate into clicks, orders, CPA and ROAS.

How to use the TikTok ads cost calculator

Three steps. Use your own Ads Manager numbers when you have them, or start from an example and change one input at a time.

  • Set your budget

daily budget × days = ad spend

Enter your daily budget and how many days the campaign runs. The calculator shows your total ad spend.

  • Add CPM, CTR and conversion rate

CPM · CTR · conversion rate

Use the numbers from your Ads Manager reports, or start from an example and change them. Add your average order value and product margin.

  • Read CPA, ROAS and profit

    ROAS vs break-even ROAS

See impressions, clicks, orders, CPA, ROAS and profit after ad spend, compare ROAS with your break-even line, and check which target would make the campaign profitable.

How much do TikTok ads cost? The numbers that decide it

TikTok doesn’t sell ads at a fixed price. You choose the budget; the auction decides what each impression costs. These are the terms this calculator uses and how it works each one out.

TermWhat it meansHow this calculator works it out
Ad spendWhat you pay TikTok for the campaigndaily budget × days, assuming the full budget is spent
CPMCost per 1,000 impressions. Varies by audience, country, placement and seasonYou enter it; impressions = ad spend ÷ CPM × 1,000
CTRClick-through rate: the share of impressions that become clicksClicks = impressions × CTR
CPCCost per clickad spend ÷ clicks, which equals CPM ÷ (1,000 × CTR)
Conversion rateThe share of clicks that become ordersOrders = clicks × conversion rate
CPACost per acquisition: ad spend for each orderad spend ÷ orders
ROASReturn on ad spend: revenue for each $1 of adsrevenue ÷ ad spend, with revenue = orders × average order value
Break-even ROASThe ROAS at which ads pay for themselves and no more1 ÷ product margin. A 50% margin breaks even at 2.0x
Minimum budgetThe smallest daily budget TikTok acceptsTikTok sets minimum daily budgets at campaign and ad group level; check Ads Manager for the current minimum in your currency.

Real campaigns don’t always spend the full budget, and results change from day to day. Treat the forecast as a plan to test against, not a promise.

Frequently asked questions

How much do TikTok ads cost?

There is no fixed price. You set a daily or lifetime budget, and what you pay for each impression or click depends on your bidding, audience, placement and how many other advertisers want the same viewers. Costs are usually discussed as CPM (cost per 1,000 impressions) and CPC (cost per click). Enter your numbers in the calculator to see what a budget buys.

What is a good ROAS for TikTok ads?

A good ROAS is one above your break-even ROAS, and that depends on your margin: break-even ROAS = 1 / margin. With a 50% margin you break even at 2.0x; with a 25% margin you need 4.0x. Enter your margin in the calculator to see your own break-even line.

How much should I spend to test a product on TikTok?

There is no single right number. A practical way is to work back from your break-even cost per order: if each order can cost at most $15, a test that aims for 10 to 20 orders needs roughly $150 to $300 of spend, and never less than the minimum daily budget in Ads Manager. The Test a product example shows how a small test plays out.

CPM vs CPC on TikTok: what is the difference?

CPM is what you pay for 1,000 impressions; CPC is what you pay for each click. They are linked by click-through rate: CPC = CPM / (1,000 x CTR). At a $10 CPM and a 1% CTR, each click costs $1.00. A stronger hook that lifts CTR lowers your CPC even when CPM stays the same.

Does TikTok have a minimum ad budget?

Yes. TikTok sets minimum daily budgets at campaign and ad group level; check Ads Manager for the current minimum in your currency. Plan your test so each ad group can spend at least that amount every day.

Is the TikTok ads cost calculator free?
